This website has been created by the Friends of the Heritage Village, an incorporated association that has been around for as long as the Heritage Village itself!

The Friends of the Heritage Village work in close cooperation with Rockhampton Regional Council, which owns and operates the Village. We have provided information here not only about the Village itself but also about the services it provides. Originating from Moura, the Kianga Shearing Shed is an original steel-framed shearing shed. In the 1930’s, the Southern Cross company erected the shed from kit form.
