The Rockhampton Heritage Village is as busy as history books themselves. Markets

Markets couldn’t get any bigger than the Heritage Village’s. Every two months people flock to the Heritage Village to offer what they have crafted and grown. It is a great day where there is something for everyone. Rides for the kids, performances from bands, belly dancers, hot food and a great place to catch up and have a chat. Friends of the Heritage Village will also be out in period costume during the day, which will have you feeling like you have stepped back in time.

Campfire Dinners

Truly a unique experience that you will not get elsewhere. Come and experience a home cooked stockman’s stew then watch a movie on the big screen in our beautiful serene paddock while the campfire crackles nearby. This experience is truly amazing, sitting out in the cool breeze with the gum leaves rustling and the stars twinkling above: It is not to be missed.

Emergency Services Day

Emergency Services Day is a great day for the local community to get in touch with their emergency services crews and see how and what happens in emergencies. Learn how to handle stressful situations and what to do while you wait for the professionals to arrive. While a serious topic, the Emergency Services day is great: The kids love to watch the firemen do drills and the helicopter land and takeoff, as well as having rides in fire engines and playing with the sirens. It is days like these that help saves lives.

School Holiday Activities

The Heritage Village is open for tours and petting zoo opportunity during the school holidays. It is a great outting for children and parents alike. Get out of the house these holidays and come see what the Heritage has to offer.

Tours (Schools, Public & Corporate)

Looking for a great school excursion to get the kids out of the classroom while still learning about history? Bring them to learn about their local history and what it means to be a proud Rockhamptonite. Each of our buildings has great stories of their past owners and their lives. Every foundation, log and roof has a memory to be passed on.

Not just for the kids! We have great facilities for corporate functions. Our popular shearing shed has the capacity to hold a great many people.

Country Music Morning Tea

Listen to live music and enjoy a good old time morning tea. Use this opporunity to catch up with friends whom you don’t normally get to see or else meet new friends. Enjoy cakes and sandwiches while listening to the soulful crooning of typical humble country music artists.

Halloween

Now a Halloween staple in our community, the Heritage Village’s Halloween tours are sure to set your spines tingling and the children laughing and gasping all night. Be guided through the Heritage Village at night by a spellbinding team of ghosts, goblins and witches with the added thrill of the things that go bump in the night. There are two sessions every year on the same day, a 6pm and a 7pm session. The early session is more suited for the youngsters who are more timid and the late session for those who love to be scared stiff!
